Notre Dame’s 2023-24 roster consists of five players four returning players and incoming. Team USA’s performance so far in exhibition play has been 0-2 after a 91-83 loss to Australia in Las Vegas. They finished seventh in the 2019 FIBA World Cup which snapped their 12-year run of dominance of winning gold in every international tournament they participated in (Olympics: 2008, 2012, 2016 FIBA World Cup: 2010, 2014 and the 2017 FIBA Americas).
On Monday, USA Basketball also announced the numbering for the squad, which goes from 4 to 15. With three straight gold medals, Team USA’s dominance from the last 12 years might seem to fade with the rise of talent around the world. The not so star-studded USA men's basketball team, head coached by Gregg Popovich, will look to win their fourth straight gold in the competition scheduled to take place in July and August 2021, with their first game against France in the opener on July 25 in Saitama. The 2014 roster featured four players 6 feet 10 inches (2.08 m) or larger, the most of any USA team since Mike Krzyzewski began coaching the team in 2006. From 1936 through 1968, they have won seven consecutive titles. Over the years, Team USA have won 15 medals in 18 men's Olympic Games basketball tournaments.
Defending champions, USA is by far the most successful country in Olympic men’s basketball.
